About the Author

Elly Suliana is the owner of Bati Ventures, a Malaysian company providing accounting services and financial advisory for restaurants and bars in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Although her technical background is Accounting and Management (Bachelor of Accountancy from San Diego State University – USA and MBA from The University of San Diego – USA), her passion for food drove her to be in the Food & Beverage Industry. She loves food (and everything associated with it) so she decided to specialize in providing Accounting services only for Food & Beverage companies.

She was involved in opening, operating and managing her clients’ restaurants since 2008. During those time she found that many people didn’t start the restaurant business properly, resulting in unnecessary stress, expensive set up, chaotic operation and unprofitable business.

She wrote this book to assist everyone who wants to open a restaurant but doesn’t have any experience in Food & Beverage Industry.

The ebook was first published in 2012 and has gone thru several updates in 2018, 2022 and 2023.
